Malaysia ready to send monitoring team to Thailand-Cambodia border if requested: PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia is prepared to send a monitoring team along the Thailand-Cambodia border if both countries request it, Malaysia's Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said on Tuesday.

The situation along the border remains under control, although it is still tense and sensitive, he told the parliament.

The General Border Committee meeting, as part of efforts to resolve the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia, is scheduled to be held on Aug. 7 in Malaysia.
