The jet, an F/A-18D Hornet, was involved in the accident at 9:05 p.m. local time, the RMAF said in a statement.
According to Bernama, the pilot and co-pilot have been recovered and are receiving treatment. Videos circulating on social media show the jet moving along the runway with bright sparks emanating from it during takeoff. (Bernama via Xinhua)
