TOKYO -- Chinese tech giant Huawei on Wednesday launched a lineup of wearables including smartwatches and wireless earbuds in Japan, looking to strengthen its presence in the expanding market.

KABUL -- Afghanistan national flag carrier Ariana Afghan Airlines formally resumed its passenger air services between Afghanistan's capital city Kabul and neighboring China's Urumqi city on Wednesday.

The air route has halted for three years due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Ariana Afghan Airlines is currently the only operator of direct passenger flights between the two countries, according to the airlines. (Afghanistan-China-Flight)

ISLAMABAD -- One of the key militant commanders in Pakistan and founder-chief of the banned Baloch National Army (BNA) Gulzar Imam Shambay has announced to quit militancy for peace and development in the country's southwest Balochistan province, local media reported Wednesday.

The security forces announced the BNA chief's arrest last month after he was caught in a high-profile intelligence-based operation earlier this year. Shambay was considered to be one of the top militant commanders operating in the Balochistan province for years. (Pakistan-Counter Terrorism)

TOKYO -- "War is not a solution to conflicts," said former Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad here at a press conference on Wednesday.
