KUALA LUMPUR, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported another 16,073 new COVID-19 infections as of midnight Monday, bringing the national total to 1,995,771.
Some 21 of the new cases are imported and 16,052 are local transmissions, according to the data published on the ministry's website.
Another 413 more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 21,124.
Meanwhile, 24,813 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 1,746,523.
Of the remaining 228,124 active cases, 1,301 are being held in intensive care and 687 of those are in need of assisted breathing.
The country reported 227,147 doses administered on Monday alone and some 66 percent of the population have received at least one dose and 53.5 percent are fully vaccinated.
