KUALA LUMPUR, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Malaysia reported 1,139 new COVID-19 infections, bringing the national total to 354,468, the Health Ministry said on Wednesday.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press statement that 13 of the new cases are imported, with 1,126 being local transmissions.

Four more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to 1,304.

Another 1,199 patients have been released after recovery, bringing the total number of cured and discharged to 339,067, or 95.7 percent, of all cases.

Of the remaining 14,097 active cases, 194 are being held in intensive care and 86 of those are in need of assisted breathing.
