KUALA LUMPUR -- Malaysia reported 865 new COVID-19 infections, the Health Ministry said on Monday, bringing the national total to 21,363.

Health Ministry Director-General Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a press briefing that seven of the new cases are imported and 858 are local transmissions, 643 of which were reported from the easter state of Sabah.(Malaysia-COVID-19)

SYDNEY -- Another 24 COVID-19 positive crew members have been diagnosed aboard a livestock carrier docked at Fremantle Port in the state of Western Australia (WA), local authorities confirmed on Monday.

So far 25 crew members have tested positive for the virus and more cases could be reported in the coming days, given there are still 52 crew members on board, the state's Premier Mark McGowan said.(Australia-COVID-19)

JAKARTA -- Indonesia will face further spread of the COVID-19 pandemic during the upcoming holiday running from Oct. 28 to Nov. 1, President Joko Widodo said on Monday.

BANGKOK -- All of Bangkok's skytrain and subway stations have resumed services on Monday following a temporary closure over the weekend.

The BTS skytrain and MRT subway operators tweeted to confirm that all stations had reopened as normal on Monday afternoon after some had closed over the weekend due to protests on Bangkok streets.(Thailand-Subway)

ISLAMABAD -- Five persons were killed and five others injured when the roof of a house collapsed in the district of Okara in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province on Monday, said government officials.

Deputy Commissioner of Okara Usman Ali told local media that the incident took place early Monday morning when the roof suddenly collapsed, killing five members of a family including a woman and children.(Pakistan-House collapse)
