OZAMIZ CITY, Misamis Occidental, Sep. 16 (PIA)--The City Government of Ozamiz through Mayor Sancho Fernando Oaminal turned over 3 brand new vans, 6,000 sets of radio and 6,000 USB flash drives to Department of Education (DepEd) Ozamiz.
"The vans or what we call our 'Mixed Learning Vehicles' will be used to provide safe transportation for our educators to deliver the modules, while the radios, and the flash drives will be used by the kindergarten, grade one students and some upper grade schoolers in the far-flung areas of Ozamiz for their radio-based learning through USB-recorded instructions," Oaminal said.
Another 13 units of high speed riso printing machines to be delivered next week.
"This is how we support the Ozamiz City Schools Division, our teachers, students, and parents for a safe learning continuity in the new normal of education," he added.
Meanwhile, Ozamiz City Schools Division Superintendent Jean Veloso said, "The new normal way of delivering basic education may be coupled with huge challenges but we are more courageous and persistent in pushing forward our noble mission because aside from the support and guidance given to us by the DepEd Central and regional offices, God has given us a strong back-up through the "Best Friend" of our Ozamiz Diamonds, and the Asenso Ozamiz administration headed by Mayor Sancho Fernando Oaminal.
The mayor also administered the oath-taking of the 14 newly-appointed teachers of the Division of Ozamiz.
They each received P10,000 as an 'entry bonus' that they can use to celebrate with their families at home. (PIA Misamis Occidental/ SMRN)
