Malaysian Indian Congress Deputy President G. Palanivel has expressed concern over the rising number of divorce cases in the Indian community.

Palanivel advised MIC branch leaders and Indian social organisations to organise marriage courses for those planning to tie the knot.

The Star Online quoted Palanivel as saying that the number of teenage runaway brides, premarital pregnancies and young single mothers was also on the rise. (ANI)

The path of lifestyle

One of the main reason for the divorce is the egoistic issue that build in the both partners either the wife or the husband. But according to the present lifestyle path both have to carry the responsibility to pull it together which is called the family bond. The old saying sounds like this

Leadership Priority

Datuk Palanivel and MIC has to take some responsibility for this, since all the time spent by them is not in moulding a well informed and strong socitey but spent in safeguarding their positions and political survival. the Indian community is both disillusioned and at a lost. Thank you MIC since you are the only champion of Malaysian Indians.

Look at the bright side

For centuries Indian women have been subjugated and supressed by social and cultural conventions which would put the Taliban to shame. These women are now merely 'coming of age' and taking their rightful place as equals. In the Malaysian context Indian women seem to be better achievers than men, who sadly get mired in gangsterism and alcoholism, especially those in the lower socio-economic groups. The 'good old days' where an Indian man comes home drunk and bashes up his ever tolerant wife are gone. Today the reward for such men is a divorce certificate.

Lack of Responsibility in Men

Yes I truly agree with Zico.....My husband is one example where he has been jobless for the pass 7 yrs. I have been the breadwinner and now I am so so tired that I want OUT of this bond....Yet my family are against the idea...so till when can I tolerate? And my husband always says that

Blame or reasons?

Ask why? The rate of rising number of divorce cases in the Indian community compared to those days? 1) Freedom to choose thair life partner and think it is the best and right choice? 2)Not matured mentally? 3) Cinema life style? and so on.....
I strongly belief that those involved DIVORCE cases never follow our old customs and traditions. Our customs and traditions has meaning which money cannot buy.

Another cut

My friend Datuk Palani, it is not only in the Indian comunity the entire races have this problem. Years back other races had already started their counseling programs only now you are proposing this means there will be another cut in the cake for you. When ever anyone opens his/her mouth in MIC that means a cut in the cake. Bring this program in any university and let the students in this faklty do a research and summit the findings. This way we will know the actual stastics or the main problems within the Indian community facing. Datuk Palani think professionaly, get help. To solve a problem we need to understand the problems. Then we find the solution to solve the problems. Don’t just think of the cake only.

Where is the data coming from?
Now you make a statement. What is your action plan. Has a committee been appointed to investigate and provide a solution and if so is there a timeline for its progress report and action plan.
Or is this all a shot in the dark to fool the Indians that MIC exist, and they good intentions and hence re- elect me in the next round too.

just politics

i feel any leader just loves to make comments and then just let it die. if this been taken by the youth MICs leaders the problem would have been much settled.nothing is new. young girls running away, marrying and coming back ,( as usual will be accepted by family) getting pregnant. it has been since 1970’s during my school days. having illegal sex in rubber estates was common. dont tell me no one knew about it. all kept their eyes close cos it was considered taboo. so why wake up now. its 21st century man.free world , free sex , free mind, no one’s business.
firstly where is the data comin from.
second. what hav the parents been doing when complaints against their children been highlighted. thirdly. how often does these MIC leaders sses the people to educte them or listen to their sorrows. No leaders has time. not MIC but same to MCA and UMNO. all just want their chairs and bickkering about each other parties and oppositions. think ahead. what can we do for now to overcome it not what hav happen and keep highlighting it. if you all want a chair just buy one from the shop, if you want to help people sincerely that will come with blessing from the public fight for the chair. its simple. speak less do more then publise what has been done and get your votes. be a filled tin not an empty , makes so much noise but kosong.

Too Much Interference by 3rd party

If only the married couple listen to one another and solve their own problems rather than carring that to a third person neither parents. Just sit down n write down each others ups n downs and come to an understanding.Just give n take in whatever u can.
