Nepal citizens asked to do with less power
Kuala Lumpur News.Net Sunday 11th January, 2009
Nepalese homes are being given only eight hours of electricity per day, due to low water levels in hydroelectric power plants.
The Nepal Electricity Authority, after imposing 12 hour daily power cuts just last month, announced on Sunday that consumers would have to endure 16 hours of power outages daily.
Nepal's government is planning to install expensive diesel-powered plants to alleviate the problem.
Nepal is suffering unusually low water levels in reservoirs that feed the country's hydroelectric plants. Email this story to a friend

New Nepal
Above comment on Arun III is very true.
Every body wants a new Nepal. Now every one saw dark new Nepal. Shame on the leaders. No one knows if it is real one or artificial load shedding for 16 hours a day. It is better to close Nepal Electricity Office and not to have electricity at all!!!Let the world know how the Nepal leaders are leading New Nepal.

Green Power
Nepal needs to lead the world in green power sources... wind and sun can be harnessed and used to fill in the power gaps!!!
