Bollywood idol Shah Rukh Khan will now flaunt the prefix 'Datuk', a traditional title conferred by the Malaysian royalty and akin to the British knighthood.
The Indian heartthrob will receive his Datukship from the Malacca head, Tun Mohd Khalil Yaakob later Saturday.
He has been listed as an artiste from Dreamz Unlimited, his filmmaking company, in the list of recipients. Shah Rukh will receive the Darjah Mulia Seri Melaka (DMSM), the third highest title.
He is among 77 recipients of the title.
Khan, 43, is a highly acclaimed Indian actor who works in Bollywood films, as well as a film producer and television host.
He has starred in several box-office movies and won awards throughout his career, The New Straits Times said Saturday.
Among Malaysian Indians to be awarded are Putra Specialist Hospital anaesthesiologist, P.T. Aiyaroo, Recron (Malaysia) Director Anil Rajvanshi, Baljit and Partners Managing Director Baljit Singh Balwant Singh, Jasin Malaysian Indian Congress (MIC) division deputy chairman K. Karpan and Malaysian Federation of Indian Muslim Associations president Meera Mohideen Jamal Mohd.
The Malaysian awards, akin to the British knighthood, are allowed to form part of the prefix of those conferred.
Films from India, both in Hindi and Tamil, are regular fare in Malaysia, a multi-ethnic society with an estimated 2.6 million Indian diaspora, besides workers from other South Asian nations.

macam kacang aja senang dpt datuk, no 2 dpt perak dlm olimpik dpt datuk,ni pula org dari india bila buat filem kat Afamosa juga dapat datuk.apa da jadi ni??????. bagaimana pula abang2 dan kakak2 kita yg jadi polis ,bomba dan lain tu???????

sekarang nie geelaran datuk senang2 macam tu je boleh bagi kat orang ramai.
ini secara tak langsung akan menjadikan gelaran itu tiada nilainya dimata rakyat. Sekarang lebih dasyat lagi apabila ia diberikan kepada rakyat asing.
Apakah sumbangan SRK kepada rakyat malaysia terutamanya kepada orang melaka sendiri???
adakah rakyat asing berhak menerima gelaran sebegitu????
Fikirkan 1 tahun sekali x 13 orang besar negeri x 77 title= 1001 title datuk dalam setahun!!!!!!
1001 orang x 51 tahun = 51051 orang datuk....
Adakah datuk 2 ini benar2 berjasa kepada negara, rakyat dan masyarakat?
Apo nak dikato, terutama kepada yang memberi title tu.... think la beb!!!!

hey you people outside malacca..pelik tapi benar..in malacca we say if you were to call datuk! in a crowded place more than half will answer you! The title here is worth 20 sen.,remember at one time we had nearly 300 datuk conffered in a single birthday, and now we are BEGGING the actor to come and collect the medal, which he probably throw in some fish tank. Jadi jangan rasa terkilan bab kalau u tukar dengan roti canai sekeping pun , kedai pun tak nak pingat ni.long live Malacca.

Keep up yhe good work.You really deserve"IT” Please come often and I am 100% sure you will be made a first class Datuk and even have a bronze statue in the town central. yep, this is vintage Melaka. they will also have the guiness book of record for having the most title given in a single birthday soon!!To those who slog day and night for Melaka ,who have in a way contribute in the development of your hometown,keep up working diligently,mabye you will have due recognition...20 years down the road!.. Cheap things are no good, Good things are not cheap.SRK ,how you feel now??

apo ni ? cemburu ke tak dapat pingat! Kenapa bising sangat! hari tu baru saja seorg budak dapat pingat dalam belacan saya, klu beli lebeh dapat punya peluang lebeh,mcm tikam tikam le! sebiji sama dengan yang tulin punya!(reject oleh datuk datuk dulu, i beli dgn timbang !60 pulh pingat rm1.50 sen aja)Mari semua ,tak payah, susah sangat ke? ada pingat ,jgn rebut, hanya d Melaka aja. Bandar di mana gelaran mcm buka air paip!

hey korg..now the name shahrukh khan dah bw nama our country skaligus dgn dia.. try masuk website2 yg ada nama dia or do u know how many ppl in this world yg akan tahu n tempted nak tahu mana and why malaysia bg datuk to him..at the same time bw nama malaysia ke seluruh negara.if u all sume bantah sgt2.. nanti org luar nampak la that we all tak bermuafakat plak..
lgpun dia diberi tittle tuh bukan apa dia dah buat.. ni kira mcm bg tittle for him buat something for us. ala2 mcm gunakan dia gak pun ada but watever pun kita tgk if dlm masa singkat dpt bg kebaikan biarje la dia jd datuk.. even ct pun dpt tittle from london after dia buat show at london.. do u why ?? it could be bg benefit gak 2 them..

magazine india is "international"
magazine such as filmfare and stardust adalah magazine yg dtg nye dr negara india.. ada terjual lebih berpuluh negara.
now wartawan sana berpusu2 mengorek kisah cerita mengenai negara kita dan MELAKA.tak ke tuh bagus..
spt belon yg bleh terbang. kalau kita tulis nama negara kita ..sejauh mana dia bleh terbang.. BUT SRK.. think ppl..
jgn pk apa dia dah buat..pk apa dia bleh buat 4 us..
pihak2 yg tak puas hati mcm artis2 local and mana2 org awam.. tgk dulu diri sendri ... mmg ada bnyk contribution dah dialirkan for negara but bleh ke nama seseorg tersebut tuh menjadi buah mulut and idaman setiap org dibnyk2 negara??
bila SRK sudah tiada lg.. keturunan dia dan industry yg dia dah jdkan empayar business dia akan ttp bw nama kita..
